Camp

This past week I was teaching up at PMBC which is a Bible Camp. The group I was teaching was a group of 36 kids between the age of 11-13 which is a bit of a hand full, but let me say this; God did some great things last week. The kids learned a ton of stuff and left on fire for God. Besides leading someone to Christ getting kids on fire for the Lord has to be one of the greatest feelings in the world. I pray that they would stay on fire for the Lord and serve Him with everything that they have. And thank you Lord for using me that way that you have.

A free Saturday?

As I sit here on the porch this Sat. morning I am thinking how I only have today and one more free Saturday until the end of September. So many things going on at the church, and with school and camp and then going away to men at the cross, www.menatthecross.org As we all get times in our live where we seem we don't have time to sit down, we have to remember to be still and listen for God. God is not always going to talk to us in a burning bush as He did with Moses. So take time and try to listen for God this day and every day.

Crying Out

I thought I would share this thought that I gave out this past Tuesday night at prayer meeting. In Psalm 69 David feels like the water is up to his neck, have you ever felt this way; things going on in life that have you feeling like you are sinking. We cry out to God for help but we then stop thinking that God is not listening to us, or something else and so we try to fix everything by ourselves. We look to other people that are having problems to fix our problems and we look to the things of the world to help, but they don't. We need to cry out to God the way David did, in vs. 3 it says this "I am WORN OUT calling for help; my throat is parched. My EYES FAIL looking for my God." Can we say that this is us, that we cry out to God and look for Him so much that we are worn out and that our eyes are failing. I think if we looked for God in this way we would find Him more and feel His presence in our lives more as well. How hard to cry out to God, are you worn out calling for God?

John 11:25-26 "Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" That is the question do you believe what Jesus said here. I don't mean accept what He said but believe it. To believe in this it means that your whole heart is into it, that you have no doubt about it, do you doubt in the reality of Jesus Christ and what He has said. IF you do believe in what Jesus says here those around you should know what you believe, do they? If one was to ask them who you where, what would they say. If you believe in what Jesus says, in what Jesus Christ did for you, should you not live it out so that others may see, so what is it, Do you believe this or what?

As I was reading today I read Deuteronomy 3:22 "Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you." What are 'them' well in the case of Joshua it was the kingdoms that he was going into, for us it can be anything. What are you up against in your life right now? Is it work, bills, family etc. the list can go on and on. Take the words of God and find rest in them this day, don't be afraid God himself will fight for you, who else would you want to be fighting for you?

What a happy boy, he brings so many smiles to our faces

This week Amy and I got Noah's blood test back, and found out that he has the type of M.D. of Becker's which is the slower progressing of the two types he could have had. We are very thankful to the Lord for this allows him to be able to walk longer and gives him and us more time to pray that they find a cure for this. From this and being at the hospital this morning at 4am with a family I have a strong feeling to tell you that are ready this that being a 'good person' does not get one into heaven only by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior does this. It is by faith in Christ that saves us not by anything that we do but but by the work of Christ on the cross. As you read this I don't know where you are at you my have things going on with your children, you may be in the hospital or have family there, you may be going through something hard and painful but know this that God is in control and that His ways are higher then ours and more then that He knows what He is doing. So I encourage you today turn to Jesus and find whatever it is that you are looking for in life in Him.

KIelbasa Festival

The church just took part in the town festival this past weekend and we had a great time handing out almost 500 things on salvation and about our church here in Plymouth. I thank every one that helped out with it. Keep praying for the many people that we had the chance to talk to. And it is time to get fired up for the youth groups this week.

Who Took Your Place?

One Day, A Man Went To Visit A Church.He Got There Early, Parked His Car And Got Out.Another Car Pulled Up Nearby And The Driver Got Out And Said, "I Always Park There!! ?You Took My Place!!!"The Visitor Went Inside For Sunday School, Found An Empty Seat And Sat Down.A Young Lady From The Church Approached Him And stated, "That's My Seat!!! ?You Took My Place!!!"The Visitor Was Somewhat Distressed By This Rude Welcome, But Said Nothing.After Sunday School, The Visitor Went Into The Sanctuary And Sat Down. ?Another Member Walked Up To Him And Said, "That's Where I Always Sit!!! ?You Took My Place!!!"The Visitor Was Even More Troubled By This Treatment, But Still He Said Nothing.Later, As The Congregation Was Praying For Christ To Dwell Among Them, The Visitor Stood Up, And His Appearance Began To Change.Horrible Scars Became Visible On His HandsAnd On His Sandaled Feet.Someone From The Congregation Noticed HimAnd Called Out,"What Happened To You?" The Visitor Replied, As His Hat Became A Crown Of Thorns, And A Tear Fell From His Eye,"I Took Your Place." When You Receive This,Say A Prayer.That's All You Have To Do.There Is Nothing Attached.This Is Powerful. Maybe, Just Maybe, We Can Get The WorldTo Start Thinking of Who Took Our Place.

Game Night

At the church we have what we call game night. We have people come over to the church and we play games and eat food, well it is the other way around we eat then play games then eat again. Everyone has fun during this time. Last night someone brought the Wii, which is a video game system. With this system you move and the sensor picks up the movement. On this game you can go bowling, so that is what we did. Carl and I played and thought that we did a good job for the first time. So we played again and got destroyed by Carl's son Matt. The best part is that my arm hurts today, I don't know how Carl's arm feels today. I don't know what hurts more the arm or the fact that we got beat by a 6 year old.

Where do you Stand?

My wife has gone back to work after having our first child and I watch him while she is there. So today as I was watching him I could not help by think of how amazing God is. I also bought a new cd on friday (which does not happen much) by a man named Jeremy Riddle, one of the songs is called Sweetly Broken great song. Towards the end it goes like this "You've called me out of death/ You've called me into life/ And I was under your wrath/ Now through the cross I'm reconciled/ In awe of the cross I must confess/ How wondrous Your redeeming love and/ How great is You're faithfulness."

As we fly through life we forget about what God has done for us through Christ and how He has given us life and life to the full. When we see things maybe our children we are often to busy to see the beauty in their eye and the love in their smile. Too often in life we don't see the beauty, love,peace, that God has placed in our life. As you read this you maybe stress out or even down in the dumps I ask you where are you standing, are standing and looking for theses things from God or are you running through life that you don't even see any of it. As they say stop and smell the coffee, I ask you to stop and see the hand of the God that loves you. I leave you with this verse from Ecc. 5:7 "Much dreaming and many words are meaningless. Therefore stand in awe of God."

Kid Programs

We offer two mid week activities for children. On Wednesday night from 6:30- 8pm we have what we call Young Pioneers. This is geared for children from K-6th grade. During this time there is a time of prayer, time of singing, lesson time, and a craft and snack time as well. Or maybe you have an older child, well good news we have a youth group for Jr./Sr. High kids. This is held on Thursday from 6:30- 8pm as well, during this time we have a lesson that is focused to them and we also have games and a snack as well. So if this sounds interesting to you or to your child please stop by.

Welcome to our website. I thank you for taking a few minutes to look at our new web site for the Cherry St. Bible Church. We are a group of people that love Jesus Christ and we try to follow His teaching in our lives daily, but we fall short. So don't say to yourself I need to clean up my life before I come, come so that Christ can help clean up your life as He cleans up ours.
